We understand how important your vehicle's reliability is. We recommend scheduling an appointment at one of our service points as soon as possible, either when your mandatory service is due or if you encounter any problems.

Types of service

When is the next service due?

When we hand over the vehicle, our staff will inform you of the next service appointment. This is usually based on the distance traveled or the elapsed time, but there may also be situations where the car needs to be serviced due to other issues, such as repairs or renewal of the technical inspection.

When handing over the vehicle, our colleagues will inform you about the next service interval, which are also indicated in the handed-over documents (Handover-Takeover Report). Service is usually required based on mileage, elapsed time, or other issues occurring with the vehicle. Most vehicles display dashboard warning lights indicating when a scheduled service is due. If your vehicle belongs to a type that does not notify you explicitly, please contact our service reception staff to arrange an appointment. You can also use the Contact form by clicking on the “Service” tile to book an appointment.

Based
on mileage

Most vehicles require servicing after a certain number of kilometers. The interval is determined by the manufacturer.

After a specified period of time

Even for low-mileage cars, regular periodic maintenance – for example, annually – is recommended, even if the vehicles are used less frequently, to ensure safe operation.

Soft service

Some car models use a flexible service cycle. In this case, the vehicle continuously monitors how it is used (e.g., number of cold starts, average speed, accelerator position, oil viscosity) and indicates the service requirement on the dashboard accordingly. It is important to address all such service requirements, as exceeding them may result in loss of warranty.

  • If you do not have the physical manual, it is also available online. Simply enter your vehicle’s exact model into a search engine (e.g., “Toyota Corolla 2021 user manual”) to locate the digital version.

Why is mandatory servicing important for you?

Adhering to the prescribed service intervals plays a key role in maintaining the vehicle’s warranty.

Exceeding the service interval (“overdue service”) results in the loss of warranty, the consequences of which, according to the contract, must be borne by the Client. MOL Mercarius does not cover any costs arising from delayed or missed mandatory services.

For vehicles under warranty, major and costly repairs are carried out free of charge by the manufacturer. However, in the case of a vehicle that has lost its warranty due to overdue servicing, such repairs will be charged to the Client.

The following practices are strongly recommended to ensure the proper maintenance of your vehicle:

  • Adhering to service intervals: pay attention to the manufacturer’s prescribed service intervals, which are determined based on mileage and time.
  • Safe driving: promptly carry out necessary maintenance if any warning signals (e.g., the central warning light), steering pull, or inadequate braking performance are experienced.
  • Validity of technical inspection: regularly check the validity of your vehicle’s technical inspection to avoid legal violations and unexpected expenses.
  • Checking tire pressure: regularly monitor tire pressure to ensure the safe operation of your vehicle.
  • Checking fluid levels: perform regular checks to ensure engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and other essential fluids are at proper levels.

Other maintenance tasks:

  • Replacement of wearing and rotating parts, as well as regular fluid changes.

Recall campaign

As a vehicle owner, MOL Mercarius will be notified if the model you are using is affected by a recall campaign. In this case, our colleagues will contact you to schedule an appointment for your vehicle’s service at an authorized workshop and to carry out the necessary and free replacement of parts.

Determining the repair location

1. Our colleagues will contact one of our service points. 2. The work order, completed with the information you provided, will be sent to the service. 3. We will provide you with the contact details of the service point for direct appointment scheduling.

Schedule a service appointment

Check in and drop off your vehicle for repair at the scheduled appointment.

Execution

1. The service point sends a repair offer to our colleagues. After it is confirmed, the repair begins.

2. The service notifies us when the repair is completed.

3. Upon receiving the vehicle back, you must sign the work order.

Settlement

The service point prepares the invoice for us. We will inform you of any additional items that may be charged further.

Dashboard warnings

If an unfamiliar warning light appears on your dashboard, take a photograph of it and send it via email to one of our service points. Our colleagues will promptly explain the significance of the signal and advise you on the next steps. What does it mean?

LOW OIL PRESSURE

To prevent further damage to your vehicle, immediately turn off the engine and seek assistance from one of our service reception staff for assistance.

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH

To prevent injuries, turn off the vehicle. After the water cools down, refill the tank if necessary. If the vehicle continues to overheat after the next start, seek assistance from our service points immediately.

Technical inspection

If you, or your employer are the registered keeper (based on the information in the vehicle registration document), please schedule an appointment through the MOL Mercarius service reception. In this case, MOL Mercarius Fleet Solution will need authorization to act on your behalf or on behalf of your company. You can also reach our service reception directly by completing the Contact form under the “Other” tile and selecting the Technical inspection option.

If you or an authorized colleague will handle the inspection, the invoice must be issued to Mercarius Fleet Management Ltd.

You can find our invoicing details HERE. To provide the authorization number (work order number + approval code), please contact the MOL Mercarius service reception team, as this information must appear on the invoice for it to be accepted.

You must schedule an appointment with one of the MOL Mercarius service reception staff to carry out the inspection, either by phone, email, or via the Contact form under the “Other” tile, selecting the Technical inspection option.

Replacement Vehicle

According to your contract, a replacement vehicle service is optionally available, which can be used if the vehicle requires service for more than 24 hours. If a vehicle is out of service for an extended period due to a malfunction or repair, please notify our service reception of your replacement vehicle request. You can also reach our service reception directly by completing the Contact form under the “Service” tile. Our colleagues will provide comprehensive information about the options available under your contract.

Driver Service

We also offer a driver service, where a MOL Mercarius driver will pick up and return the vehicle for the scheduled service appointment. This means that neither the vehicle user nor you need to personally drop off, wait for, and pick up the vehicle – the driver handles everything, allowing you to continue your work in the office uninterrupted. This service is available on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, according to the terms of your contract. Tire damage: managing a flat tire

If you encounter a problem with your vehicle’s tire, you have the following options to proceed:

If you are able to perform a self-repair – meaning you have a spare tire, can install it, and the vehicle is drivable with the spare – we strongly recommend this solution.

After fitting the spare tire, please contact one of MOL Mercarius’ service reception teams via our central phone line (extension 1, press 9), by e-mail*, or by filling out our Contact form under the “Service” tile, to arrange a convenient time for the tire replacement.

In case of this type of issue, you are not limited to our own service points. For flat tire problems outside Budapest, members of our nationwide tire service partner network are also available to assist you. We recommend selecting the partner closest to you to receive the fastest possible help.

If the flat tire cannot be repaired on-site and the vehicle becomes immobile, towing will be required. To arrange the details, please contact us via our central phone number. During business hours, our service reception team will assist you, and outside business hours, our Assistance service is available.

TENGERSZEM UTCAI SERVICE POINT

Feedback regarding waiting times motivated us to expand our service capacity near the entrance of the M3 motorway. As a result, we opened our Tengerszem utcai service point at the beginning of 2024. Our new service center is only 800 meters away from our well-known Komáromi road site, just a 2-minute drive.

The new location is easily accessible, and we also provide convenient parking options. Our extensive service offerings include seasonal tire changeovers for winter and summer, the Driver service, vehicle handover and takeover, and assistance with replacement cars. Additionally, our workshop features specialized lifts capable of lifting larger vehicles.

Our Illatos úti service point is located at the exit of the M5 motorway. Here, our customers can access many of our services beyond traditional servicing, including seasonal tire changeovers for winter and summer, the Driver service, vehicle handover and takeover options, as well as assistance with replacement cars and insurance claims, all handled easily on site. Additionally, our Illatos úti service point is equipped with two specialized lifts capable of lifting larger vehicles.

Our Gyömrői úti service point is just a ten-minute drive from our Gyáli and Illatos road locations, situated on the border of District X and District XVIII, barely two minutes from KÖKI. Its location is extremely convenient, as it is directly adjacent to the airport expressway.

Frequently asked questions

Why is it important to follow the mandatory service schedule?
Following the periodic mandatory services is a condition for maintaining the warranty. If the service is overdue, it may result in the loss of warranty, and repairs will not be reimbursed by the manufacturer.

An appointment must be scheduled at one of our service centers for major repairs, such as:

  • brake problems,
  • air conditioning faults,
  • fluid leaks,
  • suspension issues,
  • unusual odors or noises.

Minor repairs, such as:

  • bulb replacement,
  • refilling fluids,
  • window and wiper replacement,
  • battery check/replacement,
  • key or battery replacement

can be carried out without an appointment, but prior coordinationis required.

Whether you can use a replacement vehicle free of charge depends on the terms of your rental agreement. Please check internally or contact your dedicated account manager for details.
